At-Home Beauty Expert: Cleopatra's Secrets Are Simple!

During the winter period, a visit to a SPA salon can become a wonderful gift for both the body and the soul. After any treatment, it is important to continue caring for your skin at home. For example, oatmeal baths can be an excellent option. They were first used as a soap substitute by Cleopatra.

Home Methods to Maintain Beauty

The most popular ingredient for a home SPA treatment is oats. A few hours before taking a bath, soak about four handfuls of oatmeal in two liters of water. Let it infuse, then bring it to a boil, strain, and pour the resulting decoction into the bath. This treatment will perfectly cleanse your epidermis.

Another innovation from the Egyptian beauty is bathing in a milk-and-honey mixture. To achieve the desired effect, heat (but do not boil) one liter of milk. In a separate container, melt one cup of honey in a steam bath. Combine the ingredients with 35 grams of vegetable oil. Mix the solution with the prepared bath water and enjoy the results, which will become noticeable after just a few uses.

Every day, the queen used a herbal cream prepared according to the following recipe: one spoonful of a herbal blend consisting of calendula, nettle, and plantain was infused with a cup of boiling water. Then, two tablespoons of the infusion were mixed with 50 grams of melted chicken fat (or lard), combined with 30 grams of honey and 10 grams of castor oil.

In addition to these options, there are many ingredients that can turn ordinary treatments into SPA rituals. A perfect choice for dry skin is natural goat’s or cow’s milk. This product provides excellent hydration, nourishment, and creates an invisible barrier that prevents moisture loss. For a quick result, use 2 liters of milk or 0.5 liters of kefir.

There is also an option for aging skin. Using 500 grams of vegetable starch or an oatmeal decoction can help soften and smooth the skin. To achieve the best effect, add a coniferous extract — one spoonful is enough for the specified amount of base. The treatment should always be completed with a nourishing cream or body milk.

For stimulating blood circulation and refreshing the epidermis, citrus fruits are a great choice. To prepare such a treatment, cut a couple of lemons and infuse them in one liter of boiling water. After steeping for 20 minutes, mix the infusion with bath water.
