Head oil massage: an effective remedy against hair loss

Thick shiny hair is the hallmark of a well-groomed woman. But what do if the hair has lost its usual shine and thickness?

The problem of baldness has only been getting worse lately. Stress factors, unbalanced diet, lack of sleep and rest negatively affect the condition of hair follicles. The lack of vitamins and useful microelements destroys the structure, makes the hair weak, provokes a section.

We should also mention the styling products. Hair dryers, curling irons and styling irons dehydrate hair. The use of thermal protective equipment does not always help.

How to be? How to prevent hair loss?

Oil massage of the head according to the principles of Ayurveda is a procedure in which natural oils are used to actively nourish the scalp, which, in turn, strengthens the hair, makes it more durable and shiny.

Ayurvedic technique is distinguished by its effectiveness:

  1. moisturizes and soothes the skin;
  2. prevents the appearance of dandruff, in the case of an active phase - heals;
  3. improves blood circulation in tissues;
  4. saturates the hair roots with useful substances;
  5. relieves nervous tension, spasms in the head and neck;
  6. stimulates hair growth;
  7. acts as a protection against the negative effects of natural factors (sun, rain, wind, temperature extremes) ;
  8. improves the quality of sleep;
  9. neutralizes fatigue, evenly distributes vital energy between the chakras;
  10. improves vision, memory, concentration.

It is advisable to combine oil massage of the head with a hygienic facial massage. Performing such a combination will bring a double benefit: it will work the muscles of the face and activate the nutrition of the scalp cells.

In addition, both types of procedures have a positive effect on the state of the nervous system - they relieve psycho-emotional stress.

Oil head massage at home

The birthplace of oil head massage is India. In ancient civilization, a special massage technique was used that involved applying oils to specific points on the head, thereby improving the overall well-being of the body.

Nowadays, the Indian technique can be used independently at home, including in regular beauty rituals.

Technique of oil head massage:

  1. distribute a little preheated oil on the palms (the temperature of the mixture should be as comfortable as possible), rub it into the parietal zone with light circular movements;
  2. take some more oil and continue rubbing towards the ears, then to the back of the head;
  3. tilt your head, spread the massage mixture over the back of your head;
  4. massage stroking movements aimed at the front of the head;
  5. with your fingertips, pull in intensively from the right ear to the center of the back of the head, then to the left in the same direction;
  6. connect the fingers on the forehead, knead in a circular motion from the center to the temples;
  7. with index fingers, massage the area behind the ears;
  8. hold your palms from the back of the head to the back of the neck;
  9. at the end of the procedure, comb the hair with your fingers in the direction from the frontal zone to the back of the head.

Which oil to choose for the procedure?

As a base oil, you can use:

  1. for dry and colored hair - sesame, macadamia;
  2. 2. for oily hair - sesame;
  3. for thin hair - avocado, coconut, jojoba;
  4. against dandruff - jojoba.

To prepare the massage mixture, it is enough to mix 1.5 tbsp. base oil with 10 drops of essential oils (there can be several essential oils, the main thing is to observe the total amount - no more than 10 drops).

Choose an essential oil depending on the desired effect.

The procedure is recommended to be carried out 1 - 2 times a week.
