In today’s fast-paced lifestyle, people are increasingly looking for ways to relax and restore their lost energy. One of these methods is stone therapy. This is a special type of massage that uses stones.
This technique has existed for thousands of years. It was used in Ancient Rome and China.
For this type of massage, special smooth, flattened stones of different sizes are used.
White marble. These stones are used for contrast massage. Before the procedure, they are cooled in ice water.
Black stones are made of basalt. This is a volcanic rock that is used in a heated form.
Precious stones such as jadeite, chalcedony, and agate are used for facial massage.
At the beginning of the procedure, while the stones are being heated or cooled, the client’s body is rubbed with oils. When the stones reach the required temperature, the therapist places them on active points and then begins massaging the client’s body with the stones. The massage movements are first performed on the limbs. Starting from the feet, the therapist moves upward, then proceeds to the arms, followed by the back, and finally the neck and head.
An essential condition for achieving the desired relaxing effect is creating the appropriate atmosphere during the procedure. In our SPA salon, we light aromatic candles and play relaxing music; combined with dim lighting, the effect is truly amazing. During the massage, the client dissolves into space, feeling at one with nature and the surrounding world.
During the massage, stones are placed on specific zones depending on the desired effect. Facial stone massage can reduce wrinkles and improve skin condition. For this, the stones are moved along massage lines.
When determining the placement of stones on the back, it is important to consider the desired effect. For general relaxation, stones are placed on both sides of the spine, while for influencing internal organs they are arranged along the spine in a specific order. Special attention should be given to the hands and feet, as they contain many biologically active points.
Stone therapy has a number of indications and is used for many conditions, such as:
* headaches;
* colds;
* back pain;
* insomnia;
* depression.
However, there are also contraindications for this procedure:
* oncological diseases;
* disorders of the musculoskeletal system;
* pregnancy and breastfeeding;
* diabetes mellitus.
At home, stones can also be used for self-massage. For this, you can place stones on the floor and walk on them slightly, or take several small stones and roll them in your hands. The stones, transferring their energy, help restore tone and bring the nervous system back to balance.
Stone therapy is one of the most popular methods of body relaxation. This procedure not only restores physical activity but also gives a person inner peace and harmony.
