Therapeutic mud—a unique way to lose weight

Therapeutic mud—a unique way to lose weight

Healing muds are an excellent remedy that helps women achieve soft, velvety skin and a slimmer figure. The applications, body wraps, and therapeutic mud baths offered by SPA salons significantly improve skin condition, increase skin tone, stimulate cellular metabolism, and promote the elimination of excess fluid and toxins from the body.

As a result of SPA treatments, the skin becomes firmer and the appearance of cellulite is reduced. The use of therapeutic muds in combination with algae and herbal extracts, essential oils, and plant-based oils is especially effective. The properties and composition of healing muds are determined by their thermal characteristics, mineral composition, and biologically active components.

Sulfide Silt Muds

These are bottom sediments formed in saltwater reservoirs. The presence of certain components in silt mud gives it its characteristic specific smell. These muds are divided into sodium-calcium and sulfate-chloride types. In terms of consistency, silt mud is soft and homogeneous and does not contain abrasive particles.

Beneficial properties: improving skin tone and firmness, enhancing elasticity and flexibility.

Sapropel Muds

Unlike sulfide muds, these are bottom sediments extracted from freshwater reservoirs. The texture of sapropel mud is fine-grained, and its composition is determined by microorganisms with low mineralization levels. Due to its gentle effect on the skin, sapropel mud is suitable for all skin types.

Peat Muds

Peat muds acquire their healing properties when their decomposition level exceeds 40%. They are characterized by high plasticity. The sulfate-potassium type of mud, which contains microorganisms involved in the production of hydrogen sulfide, is especially beneficial.

Despite its rather unpleasant smell, peat mud treatments slow down the aging processes of the skin and help break down fat deposits.

Mud from Volcanic Vents and Pseudo-Volcanic Mud

This is a relatively rare product. It is extracted from volcanic slopes. The main microelements in its composition include iodine, bromine, zinc, boron, and copper.

It is used as a sedative treatment and serves as a specific remedy for stress and fatigue.

How to Prepare a Homemade Healing Mud or Clay Treatment?

Purchased therapeutic mud or clay should be diluted with mineral or purified water. The most popular treatments include facial and body masks made from mud and clay, anti-cellulite body wraps, and wraps designed to reduce fat deposits.

Before starting the procedure, it is recommended to steam the body and perform a gentle exfoliation to cleanse the skin. After applying the mud, the problem area should be wrapped in plastic film or covered with a thermal blanket for 20–30 minutes. Unlike clay masks and applications, clay treatments do not need to be covered.

A clay-based mask should be rinsed off with warm water when it has dried halfway, but it should never be allowed to dry completely.

Facial masks are recommended for oily skin up to three times a week for 20 minutes. Normal skin requires two masks per week for 10 minutes, while dry skin requires one mask per week for 5 minutes.

For people who are overweight and want to lose weight, warm baths with the addition of healing mud or clay powder can be beneficial. They improve metabolic processes, reduce the appearance of fibrous cellulite, restore blood circulation, strengthen blood vessels, nourish the skin, and relax muscles.
