Both, you and the therapist, have to be emotionally calm, otherwise it’s better to schedule the procedure for a more suitable time. There are also a number of physiological contraindications, including:

  • Severe cardiovascular diseases and high blood pressure
  • Osteoporosis
  • Varicose
  • Skin diseases such as psoriasis, eczema, herpes, etc.
  • The presence of prostheses
  • Recent surgeries, fractures and joint damages
  • Diseases in the acute phase

During pregnancy it is important to consult the therapist before taking a course or a single procedure of Thai massage to choose the appropriate type of procedure in order not to harm the health of the mother and her unborn child.

It’s highly recommended to ask your doctor to identify serious contraindications for the procedure before having Thai massage.

It would be better not to eat for at least two hours before the session of Thai massage. If you have eaten, let your massage therapist know.
