Sabay Massage is performed on tatami.  The therapist does intense massages on different areas of the body, gradually applying a mixture of different essential oils. According to Eastern Medicine, different essential oils affect certain energy points. For instance, sandal oil opens the “Svadhisthana” energy point and relieves respiratory tract infections, problems of the immune system, and genito-urinary system.

The main areas of the body that are massaged are upper back, shoulders, neck, head and arms. The therapist focuses on acupuncture points which are connected with internal organs and systems. A warm shower and herbal tea is the perfect way to finish your Sabay-Sabay massage!
